Crystalline Sodium Perborate Teeth Whitening , Sodium Perborate Tetrahydrate

Sodium perborate is a white, free-flowing crystalline compound soluble in water, serving as a stable, solid source of active oxygen. It exists in anhydrous, mono, tri, and tetrahydrate forms, with the mono and tetrahydrate being commercially significant.

The tetrahydrate is prepared from disodium tetraborate pentahydrate, hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hydroxide. While not as soluble as the monohydrate or as stable at higher temperatures, the monohydrate can be easily prepared by heating the tetrahydrate.
