Potassium peroxymonosulfate (also known as MPS, potassium monopersulfate, potassium caroate) is a powerful oxidizing agent widely used in industrial applications including PCB etching. The triple salt formulation 2KHSO5·KHSO4·K2SO4 (commercially known as Oxone) offers enhanced stability with a standard electrode potential of +1.81 V.

This compound serves as an effective alternative to chlorine-based oxidizers, particularly in applications where chloramine formation is undesirable. Its oxidation process doesn't produce chloramines, making it ideal for specialized industrial processes including:
