CAS 70693-62-8 Potassium Peroxymonosulfate Compound Used In PCB Industry

Potassium peroxymonosulfate (also known as MPS, potassium monopersulfate, or by trade names Caroat and Oxone) is a powerful oxidizing agent widely used in industrial applications. This compound is the potassium salt of peroxymonosulfuric acid.

The triple salt formulation 2KHSO5·KHSO4·K2SO4 (commercially known as Oxone) offers enhanced stability. With a standard electrode potential of +1.81 V (at pH=0), it demonstrates excellent oxidative properties through the reaction:

HSO5− + 2 H+ + 2 e− → HSO4− + H2O

In PCB manufacturing, potassium peroxymonosulfate serves as an effective etching agent. Its oxidative properties make it particularly valuable for:

• PCB surface treatment and cleaning
• Oxidation of organic contaminants
• Non-chlorine based oxidation processes

Unlike chlorine-based oxidizers, potassium peroxymonosulfate doesn't form chloramine byproducts, making it more environmentally favorable for industrial applications.
