Product Description
Potassium peroxymonosulfate (also known as MPS, potassium monopersulfate, potassium caroate) is widely used as an oxidizing agent in PCB etching processes. It is the potassium salt of peroxymonosulfuric acid.
The triple salt 2KHSO5*KHSO4*K2SO4 (known by the tradename Oxone) offers higher stability with a standard electrode potential of +1.81 V (pH=0).
Applications
This compound serves as an effective alternative to chlorine in oxidation processes, particularly in applications where chloramine formation is undesirable. It reacts with nitrogen-based compounds without forming chloramines, making it ideal for specialized industrial applications including PCB manufacturing.
