Product Description

Magnesium silicate adsorbent (xMgO·ySiO2·nH2O) is a white amorphous solid with excellent fluidity and porous structure. This amphoteric compound offers superior performance in:

  • Deacidification and decolorization
  • Deodorization and filtration
  • Adsorption of potassium and sodium ions

Its exceptional adsorption properties make it ideal for refining polyether products, effectively removing pigments and odors while maintaining product quality.

Application Method

For polyether polyol refinement:

  1. Add 1-5% water (w/w) to crude polyether in refining kettle at controlled temperature
  2. Neutralize with 75% phosphoric acid to pH 4-6 (temperature <80°C)
  3. Add 0.1-0.5% magnesium silicate adsorbent (or 1:1 blend with aluminum silicate)
  4. Heat to 110±5°C under vacuum for dehydration
  5. Filter at 110±5°C and 2-4KPa when moisture content <0.1%
  6. Monitor K+/Na+ ion concentration until reaching required levels
