Product Description
Magnesium Peroxide is a fine, odorless and tasteless white or yellowish powder. Similar to Calcium Peroxide, it is an oxygen release agent that decomposes slowly to generate oxygen at a controlled rate when in contact with hydrous media.

As one of the most temperature-stable inorganic peroxides, magnesium peroxide offers stable oxygen releasing capability along with functions common to peroxides including bleaching, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
Applications
In certain environments, MgO2 has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth, particularly sulfate-reducing bacteria. The slow oxygen dissociation may displace sulfate that normally acts as the terminal electron acceptor in their electron transport chain.
Magnesium Peroxide is also valuable for:
  • Coating seeds for gardening applications
  • Improving seed germination when added to sprouting seeds
  • Alkalizing, oxygenating, and sterilizing young roots as it slowly releases hydrogen peroxide and oxygen
