Product Description

Potassium Monopersulfate Compound is a powerful oxidizing agent with excellent disinfectant properties. The product will not remove existing combined chlorine but effectively prevents the formation of new combined chlorine.

Important Note: If combined chlorine level is ≥ 0.2 ppm, traditional shocking methods should be used first (10 x the combined chlorine level = ppm of non-stabilized chlorine added all at once). After traditional shocking, monopersulfate products can be used to prevent further combined chlorine development.

Application

Monopersulfate products are particularly effective in indoor environments where proper air exchange may be limited. Key advantages include:

  • Does not cause odors or irritation
  • Effective in preventing combined chlorine formation
  • Suitable for various water treatment applications

Caution: Standard dosage is 2 lbs. per 10,000 gallons of water. Overdosing may cause dramatic pH drop and lower total alkalinity (monopersulfate pH is approximately 2.3). Note that monopersulfate can interfere with DPD and FAS-DPD test readings for combined chlorine.
